This is Ziggy, the ferret.   He has bone cancer eating away at his paw.  This causes him a lot of pain.  He is homeless, and is currently at the Hudson Valley Ferret Rescue.

Ziggy needs a foot amputation so he can live a happy healthy life.  Hudson Valley Ferret Rescue has many sick babies that require medicine (adrenal disease and insulinoma meds).  The vet funds are too low to afford surgery for Ziggy.

Please, if you can spare some money to donate for Ziggy’s surgery.  This baby deserves a good life after being given up just because his bone cancer.  Any money helps.  $1, $5, $10, $20, whatever you can spare to help Ziggy.

Donations are through paypal which you can get to through the rescue’s website or directly through paypal here.

Please, even if you have no money to spare, reblog this. Spread the word for Ziggy.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to message me.

Please share and re-blog, there is no such such as a donation too small, even an $1 can be a great help.

It’s is stories like this that make it important that ferrets shelters exist, but they rely mostly on donations to help ferrets in need.

If you can donate, please do.  If you can’t donate, send this around and spread the word.  The more people that know, the more donations for this little guy.

Meet Yoshi - the pet ferret with a $5000 spine.

fuckyeahferrets:

Miss Flint, who keeps 16 ferrets at her Ulverstone home, noticed Yoshi was having trouble walking about three weeks ago.

Despite the high cost of spinal surgery, 29-year-old Miss Flint decided to give her beloved pet a chance.

She transported Yoshi via courier about 200km to Tasmanian Animal Hospitals at Bellerive, where surgeon Chris Allfree and three assistants undertook the delicate 4.5-hour procedure on the 1kg ferret.

Dr Allfree said it was the first time he, or his colleagues, had operated on a ferret.

“We do about 10-15 spinal surgeries a year on dogs and the occasional cat, but only one ferret,” he said.

This begs the question: how much would you spend on medical care for a single problem for YOUR ferret?

Happy Birthday Carl! Love you!

(Unfortunately, I had to rush this. So it’s not as up-to-par as it should have been)

This is K’nuckles. She is my baby and I love her dearly. Over the weekend she broke her tooth and it has turned brown, and she is having trouble eating and is in obvious pain. I took her to the vet today with the bit of money I managed to raise and they said it’d be another $300 for her to get her tooth pulled because of the medicine and anesthesia and everything. I just don’t have that at all. I don’t want her to suffer anymore.

I feel horrible asking again but if anyone can donate ANYTHING, even just a dollar or anything you can give at all, please help me. My parents won’t help me because they’re horrible and broke anyway and I need any bit of help I can get.

If you’d like to donate through Paypal my email is a.7.37564@aol.com. You can leave contact info if you want so I can thank you personally or you can donate anonymously.

Even just a reblog so other people might help would be considered a blessing to me. Thank you guys.

Reblogging again with the invoice I got at the vet yesterday because I’ve gotten some snide remarks suggesting this is fake. Hell, I’d be willing to make a video showing off her tooth and the invoice, but I’m sure some people would still talk shit. Blocked out my address and phone number but left my full real name.

So along with that $250-$275 there is still an additional $55 fee just to get her in there. Any help guys, any at all.

If anyone can help, please do so.

Also, to the original poster, I would recommend checking prices with another ferret friendly vet.  I have found prices vary greatly from vet to vet.  Even vaccines and check ups will vary in price.  Best of luck.

To owner: I’m not sure if it’s available in your state, but I opened a credit card called Care Credit for when one of my ferrets needed thousands of dollars (and he still didn’t make it). It’s a credit card for vets, doctors, dentists etc. And, at least for me, they gave me 6 months to pay in full before they started charging interest. Please look into it. Your vet SHOULD be able to help you apply (if it’s available in your area).
